The non-switching driver NS20 is ideal for disk inspection equipment that dislikes noise when combined with a small air spindle!

Noiseless non-switching operation
Inheriting the traditional features, the noise generated is extremely small. The power element that drives the motor operates in a non-switching (linear) manner.
Expansion of PLL control range
We have improved the PLL control circuit of the conventional product "NS35" and can now rotate stably over a wider speed range. By the way, the speed fluctuation rate is less than 0.001%.
High response current control

You can also drive the motor in torque (current) control mode. The control cycle of the control loop is as short as 10μs, enabling highly accurate control. Also compatible with CLV (constant linear velocity control).

  • *CLV (Constant Liner Velocity):
    In disk inspection equipment such as HDDs and DVDs, rotation control that changes the rotational speed of the disk depending on the position of the head and maintains a constant speed at which the head traces the disk.
Expansion of motor compatible range, expansion of encoder pulse compatible range
The number of motor poles corresponds to all the number of poles (4 to 42 poles) of our BUILT-IN DD. The encoder can handle up to 1 million pulses per revolution. Additionally, signal frequencies up to 5MHz can be received.
Miniaturization
Compared to our conventional product "NS35", it is smaller by 43% in volume and 77% in weight.

Compliant with the European Union's "RoHS Directive" (directive on the restriction of the use of specific hazardous substances in electronic and electrical equipment).
