Aircraft Division Research and Development

Video on the Progress Report We Submitted to Hyogo Prefecture Concerning “Environmental (Air Pollution) Monitoring Using Fixed-wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

Our Aircraft Division is developing the fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle XU-S (Experimental Unmanned / Utility aircraft by ShinMaywa).

On March 18, 2021, we participated in the “Results Presentation Meeting (Expert Panel) for the FY2020 Drones for Preemptive Utilization Project” hosted by Hyogo Prefecture, alongside the Japan Meteorological Corporation and Kobe University. There, we presented the results of the environmental monitoring test conducted using our fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) “XU-S.”

The footage from this event is available on YouTube.

This monitoring test was jointly conducted by the three parties, who participated in this presentation panel as part of Hyogo Prefecture’s “FY2020 Drones for Preemptive Utilization Project (Public-Private Cooperation Sector)” commissioned project from November 30 to December 2, 2020. Please refer to the post from December 28, 2020 for details.

Going forward, we will make every effort to respond to our customers’ needs through various operations, including environmental monitoring, using the XU-S. Your support is greatly appreciated.
