Started demonstration experiment of "Waste collection operation efficiency system" with LECIP

In May 2024, ShinMaywa began a demonstration test of the "Waste Collection Efficiency System," which it is jointly developing with LECIP CORPORATION, in order to contribute to addressing issues such as the driver shortage that has been a concern in the waste collection industry.

Overview of the "Waste Collection Operation Efficiency System"
By installing LECIP's on-board communication equipment in refuse compactors, various data can be collected, such as "high-precision location information" that has been proven effective in buses, and "operation information" and "loading status" that cannot be obtained from other companies and that can only be collected by a refuse compactors manufacturer.
The collected data is used to enable operators to grasp vehicle dispatch and loading status in real time, and to notify drivers and provide route guidance. In addition, the system automatically creates work reports after collection work is completed, and notifies drivers of appropriate maintenance times.
Aiming to start providing the service within 2025, the company is conducting demonstration experiments to verify the new system while simultaneously developing additional functions, with the goal of introducing the system to 5,000 refuse compactors by 2030.
