Newly installed large submersible pump operation inspection equipment at Ono Factory (Ono City, Hyogo Prefecture)

Responding to increasing demand for large submersible pump for rainwater drainage field

December 12, 2022

ShinMaywa Industries, Ltd. (Head Office: Takarazuka City, Hyogo Prefecture, President and CEO: Tatsuyuki Isogawa) has recently installed a new large submersible pump operation inspection facility at its Ono Factory (Ono City, Hyogo Prefecture), a production base for fluid products. I will do it. A submersible pump (up to 1,200 mm in diameter) will be installed on the grounds of the Ono Factory, and operation is scheduled to begin in June 2024.

Background of large-scale investment

Currently, various initiatives are being promoted in Japan, including the Basic Plan for National Resilience, aimed at disaster prevention and mitigation. In recent years, large-scale disasters caused by localized heavy rains and typhoons due to climate change have been occurring frequently, and the total amount of flood damage in 2019, compiled by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, was approximately 2.18 trillion yen.・Municipal governments are accelerating efforts to prevent flood damage, and as a result, demand for large submersible pump that can discharge large amounts of water to prevent flooding is also increasing.

The latest capital investment will strengthen the operation inspection equipment for large (large diameter) submersible pump in order to expand the lineup of products for the rainwater drainage field. We will continue to contribute to society by developing products that help prevent flooding.

Environmental consideration

submersible pump developed by our company have always been designed to be energy-saving and environmental friendly. However, we have installed a solar panel on the roof of the new aquarium, and the electricity generated there will be used to power the factory. With this plan, we will also work to reduce CO 2 emissions at our production sites (52t-CO2 /year).
