December 8, 2021
ShinMaywa Industries, Ltd. (President: Tatsuyuki Isogawa) has received an order "New Garbage Treatment Facility Development and Operation Project (Material Recycling Promotion Facility)(tentative name)" by the Yamabe/Northwestern Prefecture Wide Area envrionmental Sanitation Association (Nara Prefecture).
This project will be carried out in Two cities, seven towns, and one village, including Yamatotakada City, Tenri City, Yamazoe Village, Misato City, Ando Town, Kawanishi Town, Miyake Town, Koryo Town, Kamimaki Town, and Kawai Town, are working together to expand the area of waste disposal, because the perspective of reducing the burden of general waste treatment, reducing environmental impact, and utilizing waste resources and energy, in conjunction with the rebuilding of existing factories that are becoming increasingly dilapidated. Our company was entrusted with the design and construction of the association's new material recycling promotion facility, as well as the operation of the facility for 25 years from the time of its completion, using the DBO method *.
When planning this facility, we proposed an open space that incorporated "Checkered Pattern", which means "Prosperity", as a design motif for the building's exterior, interior, and event space. In addition, since the contracted operation period is long, we will enhance its functions as a community exchange event and learning facility, thereby creating a facility that can coexist with the surrounding community and serve as a starting point for environmental education. By installing equipment that takes advantage of this, we are also promoting the effective use of waste resources (recycling, etc.).
To date, our company has delivered numerous "material recycling promotion facilities'' and "refuse transfer station'' both domestically and internationally, and has received high praise for our technological capabilities and track record. In recent years, we have also focused on contracted facility management projects, and our contracted facilities also play a role in environmental education and awareness activities in the surrounding area, such as accepting visitors.
We will continue to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), the promotion of a recycling-oriented society, and the realization of efficient transportation systems through the effective utilization of waste by proposing and constructing recycling-related facilities and waste transfer stations with high processing capacity.
- * DBO (Design Build Operate) method: A method in which the public is responsible for financing and outsources design, construction, and operation to the private sector.
