Hey ShinMaywa, tell me! No.1

Curious and full of wonder,
MayMay traveled all the way to Earth to learn more about the planet
— and about ShinMaywa, too!
MayMay came all the way from space, eager to learn everything about Earth
— and about ShinMaywa!

When MayMay was little, their family told them stories about Earth—
a planet filled with rich nature, remarkable technology, and the people who create it.
Those stories sparked a deep curiosity,
and the more MayMay learned, the more they fell in love with this wonderful planet.

Among everything MayMay loves about Earth,
one thing fascinated them the most —
the work of the ShinMaywa Group, quietly supporting people’s everyday lives.
Join MayMay as they explore how the ShinMaywa Group helps "Building a smoother tomorrow!"
Does everyone know about ShinMaywa?
Why does life on this planet
runs so smoothly?
“Someone on this planet must be creating all this ‘smoothness’…,”
thought MayMay as they traveled across Earth.
Along the way, they discovered the ShinMaywa Group
— a company whose products and services quietly support people’s everyday lives— and their curiosity only grew stronger.
One day, while out exploring in their beloved spaceship, MayMay witnessed the launch of a rocket that used ShinMaywa’s DD Motor as one of its components.
Astonished by its technological power, MayMay quickly made their way to ShinMaywa’s
Industrial Machinery Systems Division in Takarazuka, eager to ask all the questions they had.
MayMay was created by Keiko Shibata,
the beloved illustrator behind the “Pan Dorobou” series.
Ms. Keiko ShibataWhen I first heard about this project, I was surprised to learn that the passenger boarding bridges were made by ShinMaywa. Since I often travel by plane for work, I now feel a little proud each time I walk through one, knowing I had the opportunity to be part of this project.
And I also hope it reminds people that the things we rely on daily exist because someone, somewhere, poured their heart into creating them for the good of the world.
I hope that MayMay, together with the ShinMaywa Group’s products that we use as part of our everyday lives, will help more people learn about their work and feel connected to it.
ProfileSince 2002, Keiko Shibata has been active as a freelance illustrator across a wide range of fields, including books, advertising, and general merchandise. In 2016, she made her debut as a picture book author with her first title, Meganeko (Tegami‑sha). Her picture book works include the “Pome‑chan” series (Hakusensha), the “Pan Dorobou” series (KADOKAWA), the “Polar Bear Picture Book” series (PHP Institute), I Won’t Move (written by Kenta Otsuka, PIE International), and the “Panda Spoon” series (Poplar Publishing), among others. As of June 2025, the “Pan Dorobou” series has surpassed a total of 4.5 million copies sold.
