Launch of load meter for large dump trucks using AI technology

ShinMaywa Industries, Ltd. (Head Office: Takarazuka City, Hyogo Prefecture, President and CEO Tatsuyuki Isogawa) will release a high-precision load meter that utilizes AI technology as an optional device for large dump trucks on February 28th.
When checking the loading capacity of a dump truck, generally after loading, it is weighed using a platform installed at the site *1 or a weight scale attached to the side of the vehicle. By installing a display in the driver's cabin and above the loading platform, the new product allows both the driver and the operator of the loading machine to check the amount of the load being loaded onto a dump truck in real time. For weighing, we have adopted a vehicle posture correction function that utilizes AI technology, enabling more accurate weighing compared to conventional weight scales. In addition to improving the efficiency of loading operations, it also optimizes the number of vehicles in operation, contributing to addressing social and environmental issues such as the shortage of drivers and reducing CO 2 emissions.

1. Features
(1) Equipped with an external display that allows you to check the load capacity in real time outside the vehicle.
By attaching a highly visible external display to the top of the loading platform, we support more efficient loading operations.
(2) Equipped with a driver's cabin display that can display a variety of displays.
In addition to displaying the load capacity, the dump angle and vehicle inclination angle are also displayed, and overload warning and rollover warning are installed as warning functions. We support you with various functions so that you can operate your dump truck with peace of mind.
(3) Highly accurate weighing is possible with a correction function that utilizes AI technology
By complying with the technical standards for dead weight scales and adding corrections using our own AI technology, we have made it possible to achieve more accurate weighing than previous dead weight scales.
