ShinMaywa Industries, Ltd. (Head Office: Takarazuka-shi, Hyogo, Japan; President & CEO: Tatsuyuki Isogawa) has developed automatic wire processors the both-ends crimping machine "TRD801" (hereinafter "TRD801"), which quickly performs terminal processing such as measuring the length and cutting of wires used in wire harnesses (assembled wires) and crimping terminals. The company will begin selling the new machine from October 1, 2024.
In addition to its stable operation and reliable processing quality, the "TRD801" is characterized by its expanded range of wire processing and increased versatility compared to the company's previous models.
In recent years, in emerging markets such as China and Southeast Asia, the demand for wire harnesses to be built into various home appliances and digital products, as well as automobiles and motorcycles, is growing along with the advancement of electrification. However, these countries and regions are also facing rising labor costs and serious labor shortages, and the market for manufacturing wire harnesses, which is a labor-intensive industry, is demanding equipment of stable quality that can be used for a wide range of applications and processing ranges.
Until now, our company has mainly provided automatic wire processors specialized for "thin wire" or "thick wire". However, in order to materialize these market demands, we improved and combined a wide variety of mechanisms that have a proven track record and a good reputation, and by utilizing our accumulated know-how, we reduced setup time, resulting in the development of the "TRD801", which combines high operating rate, processing quality, and hourly yield.
This machine is capable of processing AWG30 to 32 wires, which was difficult to process with our previous machines, and its greatest feature is its high versatility, allowing it to be used for a variety of purposes with just one machine.
Specifically, it has an industry-leading processing capacity of up to 5,000 pieces per hour, and can handle a wide range of wire sizes from AWG16 to 32 with a minimum cutting length of 35 mm, from thin wires to thick wires and short wires. This means that a single machine can process multiple types of wire, from those for the consumer market such as home appliances and AV equipment to those for the automotive market, including in-vehicle devices, motorcycles, and construction machinery.
In addition, the adoption of an icon-based screen that enables users to operate the device intuitively, regardless of their level of proficiency, has improved operability and made work more efficient.
In addition, the machine is equipped with a high-precision terminal crimping monitor (HTCM), digital crimper, seal insertion unit, remote monitoring system (RMA-01), etc. to improve quality and yield rate.
Going forward, in order to continue contributing to improving our customers' productivity, we will continue to pursue productivity through new technological development and quality improvements, as well as promoting the enhancement of our after-sales services globally.

The crimping position can be registered for each combination of terminal and wire, and the device can automatically reproduce the crimping height by calling up the registered data.
- Seal insertion unit
Equipped with a unit that inserts waterproof seals, used in connectors that require waterproof performance in engine rooms, etc., into wires before crimping.
- Remote monitoring system (RMA-01)
Equipped with a system that automatically creates "Processing failure report", "Processing failure report by material", and "Processing failure report by setting value" based on the information stored in the PC of automatic wire processors.
