ShinMaywa INSIGHT

[Product Introduction] Industrial Machinery Systems Division’s Vacuum Coating System

We offer a wide variety of products that support social infrastructure.

We would like to introduce our “vacuum coating  systems.”

What is a thin film vacuum coating system?

A thin film vacuum coating system  is a device that applies a thin film to an object in a vessel that has been turned into a vacuum. The thin film formed within the thin film coating system serves to decorate and protect the object surface, as well as reflect light and prevent reflections. Familiar applications include bags used for snacks, curved mirrors, and lenses for glasses and cameras.

Where are ShinMaywa’s vacuum coating systems used?

ShinMaywa’s thin film vacuum coating systems  are mainly used for forming reflective and protective coatings for automobile headlamps and decorative coatings for lipstick and other cosmetics containers. They are being used both in Japan and countries around the globe.

Further, one of our Group companies, KOREA VACUUM LIMITED, boasts a large share of the market for vacuum driers, which is indispensable to the drying process for secondary batteries for electric vehicles, thereby helping to achieve a carbon-free society.

Going forward, we aim to fully leverage technologies such as IoT to create devices featuring automation and remote functionality that are even safer and easier to use.

ShinMaywa’s products and services continue to support social infrastructure throughout society today.
