[Product Introduction] Fluid Division’s Submersible Pump

We offer a wide variety of products that support social infrastructure.

September 10 is Sewerage Day

This day was created to inform the public about the importance of sewage systems and promote understanding, and it is publicized on the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport website as well.

We would like to introduce one of the products in the lineup of our key submersible pump products: manhole pumps for sewerage, which are closely related to sewers.

What kind of pump is a manhole pump for sewerage?

A manhole pump is a pump that is installed inside a manhole for sewerage and smoothly pumps wastewater from households that pass through the manhole to sewage treatment plants.

Since wastewater from restrooms, kitchens, and bathing areas flows at all hours, it must be pumped to sewage treatment plants 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption. This wastewater also contains foreign substances, so pumps with high passability (the ability to allow both sewage and foreign substances to pass) are a must.

ShinMaywa’s pumps (the “CNWX” series) combine high passability and energy efficiency to address these issues and keep our lives comfortable from behind the scenes.

Beware of carelessly throwing masks away!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the amount of disposable mask litter has skyrocketed. Masks that are thrown away on the streets or flushed down toilets end up in the sewage system, causing submersible pumps to shut down with increasing frequency.

Masks have now become a part of our daily lives. Disposing of them properly protects both our safety and the stable operation of the sewage system. We ask that everyone remove their masks using the elastic band, place them in a plastic bag, tie the bag, and dispose of it in a trash bin.
