Message from the President and CEO

Ensuring Sustainable Growth Through Business Expansion in the Spirit of Compliance
―This Practice Is My Mission

取締役社長五十川龍之

Currently, ShinMaywa Group is moving forward with [SG-2026], the second phase of the three Medium-term management plans that comprise the Long-term management plan [SG-Vision 2030].

In fiscal year 2024, our first year of operations, we got off to a good start in terms of business performance. We are operating five main businesses under a “business division system,” and the orders received were generally favorable, except for the Industrial Machinery & Environmental Systems segment. In light of the status of orders received, which are the source of our profits, we realized in the previous fiscal year as well that our main businesses have connections with social infrastructure and that they are continuously needed by our customers.

As you are probably aware from news reports and other media, while we have been engaging with a strong emphasis on relationships with our stakeholders, we received on-site inspections by the Japan Fair Trade Commission for suspected violations of the Antimonopoly Act regarding our parking systems business in 2023 and our special purpose truck business in 2024. Thorough compliance is the foundation of management, and on behalf of the company, I would like to apologize for incurring this situation.

With regard to our parking systems business, we were issued a cease and administrative fine payment order from the Japan Fair Trade Commission on March 25, 2025. We sincerely regret the fact that irregularities have occurred in the sales activities of this business, and to prevent the recurrence of similar irregularities, our executives will take the initiative in repeatedly conveying to officers and employees the meaning of “Clean” as stated in the Corporate principles and continue to educate and implement measures for the prevention of irregularities. We hope that all our stakeholders will watch the words and actions of our officers and employees with a strict eye.

The Japan Fair Trade Commission’s inspections are still ongoing for our special purpose truck business, and we apologize again for the concern caused for a long period of time following the situation with the parking systems business. We will report the results of the inspections as soon as they become clear.

At our Group, which operates multiple businesses, the number of management themes to be addressed is increasing in proportion to the emergence of social issues. At the same time, as we continue to issue Integrated Reports, we feel that we have become better able to communicate these themes as a coherent value creation story based on our strengths and challenges.

As we pursue various initiatives with the desire to create future value, society’s demands for sustainability from companies are increasing year by year, and we recognize that one of the important ways to enhance our value is to respond to these demands. We are committed to continuously and proactively cultivating and improving our skills to respond to these demands from society, as well as continuing to be a presence that our customers and business partners can trust and maintain relationships with.

Some of the “Sustainability” content published on our website contain more detailed information than the Integrated Report. Please refer to the PDF data of the Integrated Report for developments based on our Value Creation Story, and to the content for theme-specific initiatives and detailed information.
