ShinMaywa Industries traces its origins to aircraft manufacturing. Since the days of its predecessor, Kawanishi Aircraft, the company has left a lasting mark on aviation history through the development of aircraft such as the Type 2 Flying Boat (Kawanishi H8K) and the "Shiden-Kai" (Kawanishi N1K2-J).
Today, ShinMaywa manufactures the US-2 search-and-rescue amphibious aircraft, operated by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force （JMSDF), which is recognized as one of the world’s most advanced seaplanes. The company also designs and produces components for commercial aircraft.
In recent years, building on its long-standing expertise, ShinMaywa is advancing its research and development to help shape the future of aviation.
