Participating in the Hydrogen Supply Chain Business
On Friday, May 12, 2023, we announced that we have partnered with Hrein Energy Inc. ("Hrein"), a company with organic hydride-based hydrogen storage and supply technology, to participate in the hydrogen supply chain business as a new venture.
By co-creating Hrein, which has technology and products specializing in hydrogen energy, and our company, which has production technology, we will be able to commercialize equipment that can use hydrogen safely in a variety of situations, and to stabilize it. We aim to realize a production and service system that can supply products with Furthermore, by creating a supply chain that can safely and easily store and transport large amounts of hydrogen, we hope to contribute to solving the social issue of promoting the spread of renewable energy, which is essential for achieving carbon neutrality.
In August 2022, Our company and Hrein signed an agreement for the joint development of products comprising the hydrogen supply chain, and since this spring, experiments have been conducted using a prototype of the "dehydrogenation device" developed by Hrein.
We are also considering applying this device to transportation equipment (industrial vehicles, construction machinery, ships and harbor machinery, etc.), and will contribute to "urban, transportation, and envrionmental infrastructure upgrading" as stated in Long-term vision by utilizing the knowledge we have cultivated in our existing business.
Hrein: A venture company that specializes in hydrogen energy, which promotes the spread of renewable energy, and has equipment using organic hydride technology that facilitates the storage and transportation of MCH (methylcyclohexane), which is a catalytic reaction of hydrogen with toluene.
