ShinMaywa Receives 2013 Boeing Supplier of the Year Award

ShinMaywa Industries, Ltd. (President & CEO: Yoshihiro Onishi) is the proud recipient of the Boeing Supplier of the Year award for excellent performance during 2013. ShinMaywa has been designing and producing structural components for Boeing for over 30 years, but this is the first time the company has won this accolade.

Boeing Supplier of the Year is a valuable and prestigious award presented to suppliers recognized for exceptional performance in quality, on-time delivery, post-delivery support, cost, etc. from among approximately 21,000 suppliers around the world. ShinMaywa was one of the 16 companies to receive this award this year.

ShinMaywa is responsible for the design and production of the wing-to-body fairing for the Boeing 777 aircraft and the main wing spar for the 787 Dreamliner. The company's ability to respond quickly to increased production and offer high quality in making improvements to these components was commended, and earned it an award in the "Major Structures" category.

The award ceremony was held in Chicago, US, the location of Boeing's headquarters on 17 April 2014. Mr. Kanji Ishimaru, Director, Member of the Board, and Senior Executive Officer, and his staff attended the event and received the trophy from Mr. Kent Fisher, Vice President and General Manager of Supplier Management for Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
