Large Area Electron Beam System
By irradiating electron beam, the surface of a metal object is instantly sublimated and it is possible to improve surface roughness and modify surface properties.
Conventional polishing method is mainly physical polishing but washing is necessary after the process because there are leftovers of shavings and blast media.
ShinMaywa's system introduces a new surface treatment technique which is an automated non-contact polishing method that replaces with physical polishing technique including hand polishing.
Labor cost is reduced by automated 3 axis control (X, Y, Z) and non-contact electron polishing makes after-treatment (washing) unnecessary.
Electron polishing does not have physical restrictions by the diameter of media and it can also enter into crevices.
Not only improving surface roughness but it is also possible to increase glossiness and improve corrosion-resistant, also applicable to removing defective layers on metal surface.
In recent years, more attention is paid to the appearance processing (glossiness) and also to the removal processing of small burrs that are left in slight gaps after process.

Effectiveness
The main characteristics of electron beam is to improve corrosion-resistance of metal surface by irradiation.
By modifying a surface by irradiation, corrosion-resistance of the substrate is greatly increased.
It is effective of removing burrs that are found in slight gaps, which a grinder or blast media can not reach. It is suitable for burrs that are less than approximately 20μ.
The system can be used for removal of white layers which occur at the time of electric discharge machining and metal defective layers, and support the surface after processing.
ShinMaywa's Large Area Electron Beam system
The main characteristics of ShinMaywa's system is that a large electron beam in 60 diameter and process duration is short.
Automated 3 axis control is adopted in our system and a rolling mechanism can be added as an option. It can be used for various works.
Since the system is manufactured within ShinMaywa, we can customize the system structure according to customers' needs.
We make a proposal of system structure or jigs, considering customers' work shape or processing number.

De-burring after cutting mechanically

- Cut the bottom of a needle by a diamond cutter.
