ShinMaywa PAXWAY in use at airports around the world
The boarding bridges linking airport terminals with passenger planes are important facilities that freely adjust to the locational shift of the aircraft and assure boarding safety and comfort.
Our Aircraft Passenger Boarding Bridge, "PAXWAY" was first marketed about 40 years ago, and more than 800 have since been installed at major airports in Japan and Southeast Asian countries. "PAXWAY" has the No. 1 share of this market in Asia (except the market in China).
We developed the first Aircraft Passenger Boarding Bridge for the A380, the next-generation superjumbo jet currently being built by Airbus. We have already sold a total of 19 of these bridges to Singapore's Changi Airport, which was the first in Asia to purchase them, and another five to Thailand's Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Lately, airports have come to emphasize the appearance of their terminal buildings, and we are also succeeding in the creation of new PAXWAY models with sides made of glass to match the buildings.
