The US-2 Amphibian Aircraft - A New Beginning Operations in large-scale fire disasters

The outstanding performance of the US-2 means all the more efficient emergency transport from distant islands even above that provided by the US-1A with its proven track record.

Furthermore, installation of medical facilities inside the pressurized cabin suits the aircraft for uses such as; use a flying hospital, for the transport of emergency aid, and use in national security operations.

Superior firefighting capabilities
Water capacity equal to that of 21 firefighting helicopters

The US-2 provides rapid support - not possible by helicopter or boat - for medical treatment on distant islands.

Unusable Airports - Sea or Lake Landing-Takeoff

The US-2 is able to transport personnel and aid supplies to disaster areas where land-based aircraft cannot go.

When transporting aid supplies, the US-2 can land on the sea, lakes, or rivers even if airports are out of service because of damage.

National Land Conservation
Land conservation activities in islands distant from Japan's mainland

The long, approx. 4,700km range of the US-2 allows the rapid dispatch of personnel and supplies as far as Okinotori-shima and other outlying islands. National land conservation work includes such uses as seawall construction.
