Safety comes first.
Sure quality proves worthy of the trust of people and society.

ShinMaywa has always given priority to the security of human lives, or maintaining safety, in the evolutionary process of manufacturing, which started from the aircraft business.

Now, as a "life environment-creating company," we assume the social responsibility for developing and manufacturing products indispensable to society and endeavor to secure quality in every aspect, including safety, durability, and environmental consciousness.

Approach on Environment

Environment is a keyword for ShinMaywa, which aims to grow as a "life environment-creating company." We carry out all business activities while keeping in mind "environmental protection in the product manufacturing process" and "creating environmentally conscious products (Eco-products)."
In 1993, ShinMaywa instituted its Action Guidelines for Environmental Conservation, which advocates a policy of harmony with the environment. In keeping with the Guidelines, we are committed to environmental conservation through manufacturing.
Simultaneously with the above Guidelines, we also drew up our Environmental Action Plan, under which individual targets to be achieved by 2010 were set in the following four categories: 1) environmental management, 2) products and services, 3) plants and offices, and 4) partnership with stakeholders. To accomplish these targets, specific measures are under way.
In 1998, our environmental management system was established to provide a framework that underpins our environmental management activities. While each business site works to manage and achieve its own goals, relevant information is shared across the ShinMaywa Group.

Eco-products

Eco-products

ShinMaywa has introduced its Assessment for DfE (Design for Environment) to help reduce the environmental impact throughout a product's lifecycle, from raw material procurement to product manufacture, transportation, use, collection/disassembly, to proper disposal. Assessment items are evaluated for each product, and only products that meet the criteria for these items are defined as "Eco-products."
The sales ratio of Eco-products* (excluding that of group companies) stood at 52% for fiscal 2005. We are striving to raise the ratio to 80% by fiscal 2010.
* Sales ratio of Eco-products = sales of Eco-products / total sales of all products
